Face Fullness 2

Post by solisspirit »

So, I have one more question with regards to those that have lost significant weight in the face and have gotten better. Sometimes I feel like I obsess over this issue, but it bothers me a lot. When you got diagnosed and started medications, diet, etc. what medicine was it that helped you gain the weight back in your face and how long did it take to see results? I have this phobia that I'm never going to get my facial weight back and I'll always look pitiful. I don't have too much longer and I'll be going back to do my tests, but then I have to start meds and wait that period to see. I just want to know it will all go back to normal.

Hi,
The winter of my illness leading to diagnosis, I looked very drawn and unhealthy, mostly, I believe, due to the unrelenting D and resulting fatigue and dehydration. I worked very hard to push the fluids to stay hydrated. I don't believe any med helped me regain the healthier look of my face; I think it was fluids, and also the healthier diet. I lost a bit of weight/bloat initially after going gluten-free, but as I started to feel better, my skin and face took on a healthier look. IMO, if you have high, prominent cheekbones, like I do, it doesn't take much weight loss to make you look like you've lost more weight than you actually have.

I do have high cheek bones, and right underneath them it sinks in and I can really tell even if no one else can. I just want hope that things will go back to normal.

dark circles under the eyes is linked to ineffective digestion / stress on the liver.

as you heal, and the liver is not under as much stress, the dark circles will abate.

Well, I don't have dark circles, so I guess that's good. But I do have loss of fullness under my cheekbones. They just tend to sink in and it doesn't look great.

Weight obsession

Post by Dunc »

Hi All,

I haven't been on here in donkey's years...well, months. This is my second post. I'm hesitant to ask as this topic seems incredibly self-indulgent. Still...

I've been symptom-free for a good 5 months. And the weight has really piled on. Truthfully, the only thing that saved my sanity during a flare was the weight loss. I liked being a size 6.

Does anybody else obsess over weight?

thanks,
Diane
