If I take Entocort and have a super restricted diet will I be able to tell intolerances while taking it if I add something back in to try? I can only tolerate turkey and peeled cooked zucchini right now. I sure would like to add some other foods...healthy foods... vegetables. I am currently taking Pentasa. I have an appt. with my GI on Wed and I can't make up my mind whether to take Entocort or not.

Hi Pat,
The answer to your question sort of depends on just how effectively budesonide happens to work for you, but in general, the answer is, "probably not, unless you are extremely sensitive to a particular food".
As you wean the dosage down though, then the lessor food sensitivities will be easier to detect, especially when you get down to a dosage or 1 capsule per day or less. Except for the weakest food sensitivities, you should be able to do some fairly serious food testing when you drop the dosage down to 3 mg per day or less.
Good luck, whatever you decide to do.

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.
So far no one here has actually had any spectacular results from LDN, though a few have seen some temporary improvement. LDN seems to work much better for certain other autoimmune type diseases.
As far as I can tell, it's a fairly low risk treatment (which is more than can be said about some of the other medications prescribed to treat the disease). And it's cheap.
