City Pays For Vitamins For Young Kids To Help Reduce Disease

Post by tex »

Hi All,

It seems kind of odd that a city would feel a need to pay for vitamins, but that is exactly what is happening in Leeds, in the United Kingdom. It is their hope that by paying for vitamin supplements for all children under the age of 4, the prevalence of rickets, and other diseases can be reduced. Good for the city of Leeds, for doing something about the problem.

According to a report by the Chief Medical Officer of the UK, 40 % of children in the UK do not get enough vitamin D. I can't help but wonder what the statistics might be for this country.
