Healing

Post by Gabes-Apg »

Healing for our mind and heart from the soul...
I think this applies to wellness in general, not just the MC world.

Things falling apart is a kind of testing and also a kind of healing.
We think that the point is to pass the test or to overcome the problem
(Gabes edit 'achieve norman')

the truth is that things don't really get solved. They come together and they fall apart. They come together again and fall apart again. It's just like that.
The healing comes from letting there be room for all of this to happen: room for grief, for relief, for misery, for joy.

Hi Gabes,

Thank you for the post - I was having similar thoughts when I woke up this morning, so there must be "brain-waves" crossing the continents, creating connections :). I have many of Pema's books - they have so much wisdom and have helped me through many rough patches.

Love and hugs to you,
Kari

In the spirit of Gabes, I have been diving into essential oils, to find peace & tranquility. It's fun to learn something new and forget (for a time) the troubles and worries!

How have you settled into to your new place?

Hello Linda
I have been working on not trying to block or hide from the troubles and worries, more so have a detached compassion/thought process about them.
acknowledge them, without letting them consume your thoughts too much...

I have settled in fairly well, it is a bit weird coming back after 20 years, things look kinda familiar but you cant remember why it is familiar.

-still have a few things to sort out in the pile of boxes in the garage. As I am with other people, the kitchen etc is all set up with dinner sets, glasses, cookware, linen etc. I have gone into boxes to get particular items and need to reorganise a few things.

- job hunting in a tough market. any admin position is getting 400+ applications. Best case is that it will take till June/July before I get work.

- found an awesome practitioner, we are working collaboratively to reduce inflammation, calm the immune system, calm the mast cells/histamines and get some balance and wellness.

- in the meantime i am doing lots of reading, photography (aka bird stalking), gardening

Thanks Deb :grouphug:

Kari, I have found many kindred spirits amongst this group, without MC and the internet i would not have met otherwise.
feel honoured to be sharing healing brain waves across the oceans with you.

Gabes, what a lovely passage. And I am so glad you are settling in. I know what you are experiencing. I feel that way when I go back to Israel.

I SO agree with you about kindred spirits. I don't know what I would do without this group of people.

I too have found Pema Chodron really helpful in my life. As I have come to understand that troubles are not unwanted aberrations but simply the way of the world, ebbing and flowing over a lifetime, I have been better able to accept all that comes my way, even the bad stuff. That doesn't mean I always enjoy everything or don't wish for something different, but I do try to work with whatever comes my way rather than fight it or waste time bemoaning my fate.

Gabes,

Glad to hear things are going well. I hope the job market opens for you soon, and as you said, you can enjoy relaxing now!

Thank you Gabes, I alway find your posts encouraging. I am going through a few rough patches right now and find your words to be very true and comforting.

Blessings to you on your journey.

Gabes,
I too love Pema. Have read her stuff and have downloaded some of her seminars through Sounds True out of Boulder, Co. She is fun to listen to and her books are really helpful to me.

Jean
I have 3 of Pema's seminars as audio books via Sounds True.
I love how pema debunks the mysteries of mindfullness, and laughs at her early days questioning if she was doing it right

Deb,
hang in there. I cant promise it will get better, I have found there is an element of peace that you are doing all you can to optimise your wellness.

Jon,
not sure what you mean by online? as in working for someone where the interaction between the parties is all online?
I know of others doing this. One hiccup is that Internet in Aus is expensive and slow,
I also have some other elements in the mix such as a claim on my private Income Protection Insurance. it is a long story and not something that i want to discuss in public forum.
