I am thankful for my struggle because without it I wouldn't have stumbled across my strength.
What are you willing to let go of so you can live the life you know you deserve?

I apologize, because I thought I knew where it was, but I couldn't locate it, because it was way down the page in the Information on Diet forum. I had to go to my book to locate it, because there's an example in the back of the book, plus a link to the one here on the board. I made a sticky out of it, so that it will be easier to find, in the future. Anyway, here's a link to an example of such a card:

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.
You're very welcome. Actually, it already is a sticky in the original forum where it appears (Information on Diet). I've just made this thread a sticky in this forum also. I'll look around some more in the newbies section to see if I can find an appropriate place for another copy, but offhand, I don't see a place where it would fit in. Information on Diet and Tips on Traveling seem to be the most logical locations for this type of information.

Ant's card was super useful while I was traveling this last week. I modified it to suit my current diet and printed "what I can eat" on one side and "what I can't eat" on the other. I used it at 6 chain and independent restaurants from NY to GA. Also at the senior residential facility where my FIL lives. I found servers/chefs to be very helpful and more than willing to accommodate my needs. Usually, I had plainly cooked fish or meat with baked potato/sweet potato and well cooked safe veggies.
I have been involved in food safety training to many strands of food service workers over the last 10 years. Current training protocols strongly emphasize food allergies and how to deal with them. I must say, it seems to be working!
In addition, I took along a lot of food. Frozen turkey and lamb. Home canned bone broth, carrots, green beans and turnips. Sweet potatoes and potatoes to nuke. Protein powder, almond butter, rice cakes, canned coconut milk. I made a little bag to take into restaurants with small vials of coconut milk, maple syrup, olive oil, coconut oil. So I could safely doctor up my meals.
The only problem that I had, which it took a while to figure out, was that the chlorinated drinking water in the senior home seemed to cause WD for me several times/day. Happened the last time I visited there, too. So, I bought some bottled spring water and things improved immediately!
