Call me retarded, but I don't understand why anyone would be surprised that their gut contained more pathogenic bacteria, and precious few of the so-called "good bacteria" that modern day "experts" and probiotics manufacturers promote as necessary for good health. As I've pointed out before, we don't need any "good bacteria". Those bacteria are simply free-loaders.
The caption under the photo image says that "the women have more gut bacteria for breaking down fibrous veggies", as if to imply that the women needed those bacteria for proper digestion of the vegetables. The truth is that those parasitic bacteria are there to dine on the "fibrous veggies" for their own benefit — the women don't need them to digest the vegetables.
