Need digestive enzymes info
Hi, I have been on digestive enzymes for about 4 days. 3rd and 4th days I had loose stools and bloating.
Can the loose stools be die-off or detox? Or, I've read that there is an adjustment period and during that time loose stools are common.
Thanks for your help.

I took digestive enzymes at one point and I noticed no improvements but a lighter wallet. I don't know if the D can be a result of pending improvements. My D continued before and after so I can't guess if it helped or not.

I have recently started some digestion ezymes, biohawke digest easy, sourced from ginger.
Mindful that I am C dominate, and minimising the C without causing inflammation is our main goal, I thnk the enzymes have helped.
With most things in MC world, the answer to alot of questions is "it depends"
Unless you have testing each week to monitor the poop and changes etc, how you feel is the only gauge.
Any drastic change to the digestion chemistry is very likely to cause softer /smelly BM's
I am waiting 4 weeks, to see where things are at.

I tried digestive enzymes a few weeks ago. They were for protein, carbs, & fats. I could not tolerate them at all, and stopped after 5 days of misery!
I do use betaine HCL, which helps with digestion by adding acid to my stomach to break down the food. It has helped a lot! :)

I've read that sometimes it's best to go very slowly with enzymes if you find you are reacting and I've read that it may take time to adjust to them and that the side effects will go away after a couple of weeks.
I'm trying to do both, go slowly and I'll try to give them 2-3 weeks as an adjustment time.

I find this topic interesting because my 23yr old daughter-in-law just signed up to have her gallbladder removed this July because she has gallstones & fatty liver disease(and is lactose intolerant). I have read that she will need to take digestive enzymes to digest fats for the rest of her life. Is this true? Her Doc says it's not necessary. I would be curious to know if any of us MCers have had gallbladder removed & what their experience has been?

I had my gallbladder removed in 2009. I was ok for about 4 months, then had wd. Dr. started me on Welchol (6 huge pills each day). Welchol absorbs bile acid and that is what caused the wd, according to dr anyway.
Hindsight being 20/20 I now believe it was the beginning of mc.
A few months later I went back to dr because I felt sore in all my muscle like I had been working out all the time. dx fibromyalgia and started me on tramadol. Then dx osteo arthritis, more drugs. Changed dr and got on Lyrica.
If I had known then about mc I could have saved myself the last 5 years of misery.
