In case you still eat Splenda

Sucralose has a more detrimental effect on gut bacteria than other artificial sweeteners such as saccharin because 65% to 95% of sucralose is excreted through feces unchanged!

In 1991, Canada became the first country in the world to approve the use of sucralose as an artificial sweetener.

Confidentially, there was as direct correlation between the amount of sucralose consumed and the increase in inflammatory bowel disease.

Essentially, the understanding we now have is that, because the body cannot digest sucralose, it travels through the human GI track damaging it as it goes killing probiotics and harming the intestinal wall causing leaky gut.

Several studies have confirmed Qin’s suspicions. For instance, the Journal of Toxicology and Environmental Health published a study out of Duke University Medical Center describing that Splenda not only significantly reduces beneficial bacteria in the gut, is also increases your fecal pH which will decrease the amount of nutrients you can absorb.

Thanks, Marliss. I know I shouldn't use it, but I do. Your reminder will get me back on track with something acceptable. The sucrolose could be what is causing belching etc. I am so compliant with everything else but kind of ignored the Splenda. Willful ignorance, and shame on me.

I never used Splenda till I got diabetes June 2012. Could be the culprit that drove my MC genes over the edge. Wish I had known all this before. Hind sight is always 20/20 !

I am thankful for my struggle because without it I wouldn't have stumbled across my strength.

I have never used Splenda and I go to great lengths to ensure my kids never do either. I'll take HFCS over Splenda any day. They hide that crap in everything nowadays, since apparently Americans need things ridiculously sweet when they also demand lower sugar. What drives me crazy is there is no obvious mark on the label as they do with Nutrasweet. You have to dig into every ingredient list. So tons of parents are feeding their kids reduced sugar foods without realizing they are pumping them full of Splenda. It's a travesty.

Hi, Unfortunately " splenda "is used as a sweetner in many protein powders, There is site called "True Nutrition" where you can order the type of protein powder and the additives including the sweetner. The cost is the same per pound as the ones bought online or in a store. Jon

Zizzle I also don't let my kids have any Splenda or any other fake sugar. People think I am crazy because if they have soda I insist it's the full sugar kind, not diet. What made my head spin was when they took all the soda out of the vending machines at their elementary school, and replaced them with zero calorie sparkling water drinks loaded with sucralose! I'm not sure why vending machines are necessary there in the first place, but it seems if they are worried about the health of the children they could just put water in them.
