has been ages...

Post by harma »

It has been a while since I have been active here. I hope you all do well, and for sure many many new people around here for me. A lot has happened since my last visit here. Than I was still in Jordan. But the Jordan adventure is (temporary) stranded, I came back to Holland in June last year (OMG already a year ago, time flies). Main reason, lack of income, I was not able to generate a source of income in Jordan and at a certain there was no money getting out of the wall anymore. So with pain in my heart I left Jordan and returned to the Netherlands. The last years have been a bit of gypsy life, moving from one place to the other from parents in a house of a friend, to parents again to another place of friend. But if it all works out well (and I don't have reason to think otherwise) I will finally have my own place again by the end of this month where I can stay a bit longer. Finally.

So yes that is what happened with my emigration plans. I don't have given up on my Jordan plans, and also I don't consider my plans failed, it only worked out different than I expected (and hoped for of course). But looking back (and than especially in the longer term) I think I would regretted more if I never had tried, than doing it and well go along with the way life happens.

And my CC. That is still with me. And not much has changed, I still on entocort. I am still GF, DF, SF, CF, EF (etc, etc, etc). The list of stuff I can't eat is still so much longer than what I can eat. For two years I went rather well, until last spring (up to now) I ended up in a flare. It always happens when I started expanding my food range with more fruit, more vegetables, sigh...I even went back to my GI-doc. Doubled the dose of entocort to one in morning and one in evening and besides that I am back to rice, chicken (or fish), olive oil and tea. In the beginning I was not doing it 100% (some juice here and glass of wine there) and than it does NOT work. But since I stick to it 100% since almost two weeks, it is really getting better now. I am already back to one pill a day.

so that is in short my story.

Hi Harma,

I'm sorry that you've been having a flare, but I'm glad that you are doing better now.

Sometimes the road of life presents a temporary detour for us, but that's just part of the unpredictable part of life. After the detour, the journey continues.

Thanks for posting. It's good to see an update from you. I've been wondering how you were doing.

Harma, it's so good to hear from you! I wondered how you were doing.

I'm sorry that your plans to remain in Jordan did not work out, but you are right in saying that you would have regretted not trying. All our experiences go to make us who we are, and your experiences in Jordan will surely color your life from here on out.

Love,
Martha

Hi Harma, I am glad to hear from you too. I was wondering how you've been. Martha is right, we need to take risks to find out where we should be heading.

Great to hear from you Harma and I too was wondering how things were going for you. Sorry about Jordan but glad things will be settled for you real soon. Life does give us twists and turns but there is always another road to follow and we learn from the previous roads.

Love, Maggie

Thanks for getting back in touch, Harma. I remember the gorgeous pictures you posted.

You followed your heart to Jordan, and you will always have those memories. I think there is more regret for things we didn't do when we had the opportunity. I hope you continue to feel better and get settled into a place of your own.

Hello!!!!
soooo good to hear from you.

they gypsy (moving house to house) is not ideal for a MC'er, I am sure things will improve once you have a home base, your own space.

Life is not about the destination, it is the journey we have along the way

Hi Harma, I've been wondering how you were doing. No fun with the flare but at least you are getting back on track. We all know how that goes.

Good for you for trying what your heart desires. I agree the regret can be worse than if plans don't turn out like you had hoped. I'm in that boat too. I've decided that as long as I try my best to make it happen (job change) that is all I can do. If it doesn't happen, then maybe God has different plans for me.

Hope you will have time to check in more often, love to hear how you are doing. Take care!
