I'm sorry to be a pest, but I tried to save a pm as draft, and now it's nowhere to be found. I looked at the technical support forum but couldn't find an answer there.

Sorry that they're not easier to find. Go to the top of the page, and look for the 2 links that say View your drafts and topics you have posted to and View your drafts and posts, located on the left side of the page, just below the Search The Archives of This Discussion Board link. Click on either of them to see a list of your drafts plus other info. You can edit any draft and either post it or save it as a draft again.
Everyone seems to have a problem finding them. If for any reason this doesn't work for you, please let me know.
