Moderator - I have a problem

Post by Yikes »

I was hoping to tell one of the moderators this in a PM, but I can't do any PM's until I make at least 5 posts, so here goes, for all the world to see, and I'm hoping one of the moderators can help me out.

A few weeks ago I joined the forum and made a couple of posts using my laptop and one of my two email addresses. Although I had my username and password on the laptop, I failed to write it down on paper. Meanwhile, my laptop crashed and the Geek Squad has sent it away for repairs and to have it restored to 'factory' which means my username and password are gone forever. Unfortunately, this website won't let me choose a new password unless I know my username.

I tried to find one of my old posts so I could discover what my username was, but that was a futile search. I also tried to contact one of the moderators or anyone from the website, but wasn't able to do that either, because I wasn't logged in.

Sooooooo, using my desktop computer and my other email address, last night I registered again for the sole purpose of making a post so I could ask for advice from one of the moderators. Well, I don't know what to do now. Could someone email me my username from the first account, or should I forget about that account and continue making posts using this new account? I doubt that I am supposed to have 2 accounts, and I sure don't want to be banned, so I don't want to make any more posts with this new account unless I get the OK.

Any help would be appreciated, thanks in advance.

Hi Yikes,

I'll be glad to help, but not having any powers of clairvoyance, I'll need some type of clue in order to track down your original username, such as the email address that you registered under, or part of your username, etc.

I'll email you an email address that you can use to to send me the info and I'll try to track down the account ASAP.
