I will post my question on this board as well: Did anybody have any luck in bringing thyroid antibodies down with eliminating food allergens/sensitivities? If yes, how long (approximately) did it take?
I read it is possible (the idea is that immune system calms down and, specifically, with no gluten in the system does not attack thyroid that much).
Thank you!

Reduction in inflammation will help all systems/organs in the body.
One issue is that depending how long you had chronic inflammation, will depend on what nutrient/mineral deficiencies you now have, things like thyroid will continue to have issues until deficiencies are corrected.
An elimination diet alone will not fix deficiencies, it will just keep inflammation levels down.

Thank you for your responses!
The reason I asked such a specific question is information I have been seeing around along the lines: "The molecular structure of gliadin, the protein portion of gluten, closely resembles that of the thyroid gland. When gliadin breaches the protective barrier of the gut, and enters the bloodstream, the immune system tags it for destruction. These antibodies to gliadin also cause the body to attack thyroid tissue. This means if you have AITD and you eat foods containing gluten, your immune system will attack your thyroid." (http://chriskresser.com/the-gluten-thyroid-connection, http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/hashimotos/).
And "..researchers found that...organ-specific autoantibodies (i.e., thyroid antibodies) -- will disappear after 3 to 6 months of a gluten-free diet."(http://thyroid.about.com/cs/latestresearch/a/celiac.htm). That is why I was wondering if anybody kept track of it and had success.
