For anyone interested, I ordered some of the chlorpheniramine maleate 4mg, from www.puritanspride.com It is USA based seller, but the delivery came from Germany.
The advance pharmaceuticals inc. brand of this product had no lactose. I could not get lactose free version in Aus.
When the order came it had free gift, 200 tabs of 1000iu Vit D3, useless to me as it had soy oil in them, albeit, I like companies that give freebies on a $10 order!!
The 2 bottles of 100 tabs of 4mg, cost $9.00 aud, postage was $9.99.

That's not a bad price. 60 tablets of the 12 mg version (marked made in USA) cost me $20.33 in USD, and it has a very long ingredient list that includes lactose monohydrate (just like the original formulation), so I reckon I won't be using it unless I happen to have some mighty severe allergy symptoms.
Thanks for the info on the 4 mg version. I may have to get some of that stuff, and just take it more often, if I should need an antihistamine.

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.
