Figured it out--not really seasonal

Post by Jean »

Hi All,

Finally figured out what was making me sick. It's my antidepressant, the "inactive" ingredients. I'm not sure if they changed the ingredients, but I am definitely reacting. Last week when I was having headaches and D the only change that I had made was starting to take my antidepressant again. I stopped for 3 days and just took another one yesterday. D in about 2 hours...

Darn! I take the generic of Paxil, and it was the only one that didn't have any of my intolerances. I really don't know what to do now. I have one compounding pharmacist in the area. I may ask him if he knows any doctors that would be willing to go to the trouble of prescribing through him. I know my doctor had no idea how to do it.

Have I ever said that this disease SUCKS!!!?

Jean

PS Accidently ingested a grain of ornamental grass (in my coffee) and had no reaction. There must not be any gluten in them.

Morning, Jean,

There's always a reason, isn't there. It's a shame that such things happen, but at least, now you know the cause of the problem.

Wouldn't your doctor be willing to call the compounding pharmacist, to at least collaborate enough to discover what he/she needs to do, to write such a presctiption? It should be a relatively simple matter. I'll bet the pharmacist could explain it in half a minute, or less.

After all, your doctor really hasn't done his/her duty, just by writing a presctption for Paxil. You need a presctiption that you can actually use. Good luck.

Love,
Wayne

It SUCKS, doesn't it

Like Wayne said, there is always a reason and more often than not it is in the things we eat/drink.

Jean, try to take this challenge by the horns like you do everything else and pretty soon you should have a prescription for the compounding pharmacy in your hands. I agree with Wayne that it probably is very easy for your doctor to do it; he/she just has to spend a little extra time learning something new - I think it sounds like a good idea to have the pharmacist call him to explain what needs to be done.

Please, let us know about the progress you make.

Love,
Karen
