Using magnesium spray on neck area helps alot.
disolve epsom salts in warm water, soak a washcloth in it or spray onto the skin
paracetamol is ok (DO NOT use ibroprofen or asprin)
stick with the bland, easy to digest meals, small serves.

Mike,
The good news is that with any luck at all, in the long run those headaches should stop occurring. Changing my diet to eliminate my food sensitivities also eliminated my headaches (and migraines). I've been in remission for over 10 years now, and the only headache I've had during all that time was due to me accidentally bumping my head on some machinery, because I wasn't watching where I was going.

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.

Several members have posted that they were able to successfully use topical application of NSAIDs to relieve pain without an MC reaction. This seems to work for inflamed joints. I don't recall if anyone has posted any success stories about using topically-applied NSAIDs to treat headaches.

Yes they do go on for days. I think those kind have multiple causes. The gluten is just one. Headaches can cause tension too! As can many other suspects of MC. There are occasional days now when I have a sense of "well being" but it is fragile. It is disappointing when I am given something GF, eat it and realise it isn't! And know the "brushfire " is going to scorch it s way through skin, scalp, the toe with the little inflamed joint,on to the irritated bladder, over the equally reddened eyebrows....
There are to compensate, my new long talons of nails which don't break and silky hair which has grown without frizz. VIt d I guess. The banana industry will be very pleased as often I go hours with only one for company!! Trying to avoid gluten....
