new blood test results

Post by Hopeful »

I got some of the results in from testing I had last week. For background, I have been taking high dose Vit. D as well as 2,000mg of B-12(methylcobalamin and adenosylcobalamin). And many other supplements.

cholesterol is "superb" despite the addition of much more fatty meat

ferritin level is high (doesn't give #) - this reflects both iron stores as well as inflammation and suggests no deficiency - likely elevated due to chronic connective tissue disorder according to the doctor. I do not supplement with iron.

kidney function tests and electrolytes, including potassium, are normal.

Vit. B-12 level is 2,000 which doctor says is "fine".

Vit. D level is 85, which he says is excellent and suggests I reduce dose to 400units/day.

So, these are pretty good results, right??

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.
