How to cope with relapse...square 1?

Post by Tcrios »

I was diagnosed a year and a half ago with MC along with 4 ulcers in the esophagus that give me fits. I have been successful with Budesonide but recently had to get off. I had whittled down from 3 to 1 capsules per day. My diet is managed by losing soy, dairy, gluten, nuts, shellfish, eggs and all raw veggies.
Recently I was taken off Budesonide and my symptoms are back full force. They gave me the liquid version 3 mg. but it is useless.
I just had my 2nd EGD and am due another in a month. I suspect my doc is going to eliminate more foods. With symptoms as they are, working is challenging at best since I am on the road a lot in Houston...not exactly service road to a restroom friendly! Any advice?

Have you tried taking anti-histamines?? Histamine issues is very common for MC'ers.

To be in full flare once stopping the med, means there is something in your eating plan/environment that is a strong trigger. Going back to a bland diet of a few ingredients can bring stability. And then test ingredients to see what items you are reacting to.

Other thoughts that come to mind that could be causing issues...
Are you avoiding moisterisers, make up etc that has soy?
When on the road, what are you eating? If eating out is there risk of contamination?
Are you eating gluten/soy free products based on processed flour blends... This has been an issue for many
What supplements are you taking? Have you had your Vit D3 level checked?

Hi there,
So sorry to hear of your relapse. Are you eating low fiber? Really cooked veg and a focus on your safe meats? That helps me.

Also. Who is your doctor that is eliminating foods? A GI or naturopath? I'm just curious because I'm in Texas and might want to see your doctor.

Hope you find relief soon,
Nancy
