This is a federal law that allows for unpaid leave due to medical conditions of the employee and it also allows for unpaid leave if an employee has to take leave to be a family member.

I looked into this when I was desperately ill but did not qualify since I cybercommuted for a company in Cleveland. A key component of the law is that the company must have 50 employees within a 75 mile radius of where the employee lives.

I was able to work through my tough MC spell.
