Uceris and Testing for Gluten
I was diagnosed last year with LC and have had four flare ups. Currently I'm on UCERIS and still having D. I was tested for Celiac disease but it came back negative. I'm thinking I should have the testing but I'm wondering if I can do it while taking UCERIS. Feeling awful! :
Hi,
Welcome to the board. If you are referring to the EnteroLab stool tests, the question is, "How long have you been taking Uceris?" If it is longer than a few months, there is a good chance that your immune system's ability to produce antibodies might be suppressed enough that you might receive false negative results on the tests (because the tests are based on detecting the level of IgA antibodies to various foods in stool samples). If you have only been taking Uceris for a few weeks, then it probably wouldn't affect the test results.
Again, welcome aboard, and please feel free to ask anything.

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.
