The Great Australian Scandal

Post by tex »

Hi Gabes,

You have my deepest sympathy. I'm sure that, like all Aussies, you are having a tough time facing the sunrise each day after news of the recent horrendous scandal rocked the country. For some strange reason (possibly some sort of coverup conspiracy) I hadn't heard this on the regular news, but fortunately it was mentioned on the Saturday morning ag show, this morning. All I can say is, I'm gobsmacked that the good people of Australia would allow this to happen.

I'm referring of course to the announcement by PETA that one of the sheep stations in Australia is employing workers who actually were caught using fowl language around the sheep. :yikes: Can you imagine that — a farm or ranch worker who uses bad language in the presence of animals? Unbelievable! How could anyone be so depraved and inconsiderate. Overhearing such language could ruin the lives of any animal that happened to overhear it.

And incidentally, I have to say that I'm extremely impressed and chuffed that the sheep in Australia are able to understand and probably also speak, fluent English. That's highly commendable, to say the least. Clearly, your sheep education institutions are far ahead of ours. Your sheep are obviously far more sophisticated than the relatively uncultured sheep we have here in the U. S. Most of the sheep here are still hung up on a relatively limited vocabulary. Namely, Baaaaaaaaaaa. So we can cuss all we want around them and they couldn't care less.

Of course I can see PETA's point. Imagine the effect such language might have on the lives of young, innocent sheep. There's no telling what sort of neuroses they might develop as they grow up. Most of them would probably end up either in a life of active crime, rebelling against society, or stuck on skid row, addicted to drugs, alcohol, and no telling what else. Indeed, exposure to such depraved language is almost as bad as what our kids are exposed to if they watch prime time or late night TV. Heaven help Australia if any of their station workers were to be viewing a portable TV, and callously allow some of the sheep to see or hear some of the programming. PETA would faint dead away.

I just hope that Australia can get this scandalous situation under control before the lives of any more sheep are corrupted by those callous workers. We're just extremely fortunate that we have the likes of the nitwits at PETA to look out for the interests of innocent sheep all over the world. :millianlaugh:

Otherwise, I hope that you're enjoying a great weekend, Gabes.

Hugs,
Tex

P. S. Things must be getting pretty slow over at PETA these days.

You can't really expect American sheep to be well-educated, since we haven't yet passed the No Sheep Left Behind Act.
