Hi Brenda,
Thanks. When I read your post, it reminded me to check the radar, because we haven't had any significant rain here for several hours. The eye appears to be approximately 60 miles S by SE of us, and headed straight for us. The rain has just now begun to fall again, but according to the radar, this time it means business. Fortunately there's virtually no wind — just a lot of rain.
We should be OK. We're not in a floodplain here.
Thanks for your concern,
Tex

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.
Glad to hear that Tex. Twenty seven years ago, Memorial Day weekend I lived in Canyon, Tx. We had so much rain that weekend the water was level with the top of our two step porch. We lived in a pier and beam house. Fortunately the water didn't get inside our house. We weren't in a flood plain, lol.
My husband's boys and their families live in the OKC area and I have a good friend that lives just outside of Ardmore, OK.

Hi Brenda,
We were on the western edge of the eye when it passed through, so we only had a little over 3 inches of rain altogether. The winds were light, so we didn't have any wind damage. All in all we were lucky.
Yes, it can certainly get ugly sometimes when the weather gets out of hand. Less than 5 miles away (east of here), over 6 inches of rain fell in less than 2 hours yesterday afternoon. And that was on top of all the rain that fell when the storm passed through during the early morning hours, so all of that 6+ inches ran off. Most of the buildings on the main street of a little town there were flooded with water.
Those areas of Oklahoma appear to be dealing with the remnants of the storm this morning. I hope that they don't have any major problems.
