PPIs Associated With Increased Heart Attack Risk

Post by tex »

Hi All,

To add another risk to the already relatively long list of iatrogenic effects of PPIs, now they have been shown to promote an increased risk of heart attack.
(Reuters Health) – People who take certain popular heartburn medications, like omeprazole (Prilosec), are at increased risk of heart attack, according to a data mining study by U.S. researchers.
Some heartburn drugs may carry heightened risk of heart attack

Yet doctors continue to prescribe them, and who can blame them as long as the FDA pretends that the drugs are safe?

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.
