IBD Symptoms Correlate With Stress Rather Than Inflammation
Hi All,
As we have long suspected, the clinical symptoms of IBDs correspond to perceived stress, but not necessarily to inflammation level. Here's a Medscape research report that verifies the powerful effects of stress on symptoms.

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.

Hi Bets,
Yes, Medscape is a site used and trusted by most medical professionals. However, anyone can use it. They don't specify what you have to be practicing. There is no cost, and under "Profession", just select "Consumer/Other". It's a great place to keep up with research and current medical policies on various health issues.

Not exactly what I wanted to read this morning!
I just returned from the worst vacation ever last night. The husband has developed a mysterious infection in his arm and we had to make 3 trips to the ER for antibiotics, iv, etc. Now he has drains installed and I am frantically trying to arrange home care for him. He is an otherwise healthy 30-year-old.
Sitting here gurgling away.

Wow! That sure was an unfortunate turn of events to spoil your vacation. I hope that his doctors can get the infection under control quickly, so that your MC symptoms will settle down again.
