Anxious to hear about Wayne!

Anyone hear anything yet? I've been sooo anxious ever since hearing about the emergency surgery. I do hope that Wayne's brother will be able to call Polly soon, but I'm sure he's got lots going on right now, and will as soon as he can.

Nope, haven't heard anything yet. It occurred to me that if Wayne went to surgery last night, he may not have had a chance to speak with his brother about calling me. Don't worry.....I will let you know just as soon as I hear anything. I know we'll all feel so much better when we hear.

Oh My!

I just logged in and saw what is going on!! I sincerely hope Wayne is feeling better - by his description, it sounded like more than just a food reaction to me - I am glad he is seeking medical help.

Yes, Scott & White is a fairly well known teaching hospital, and it is large. They even have satellite hospitals in north Texas, even near the DFW Metroplex areas. I've even seen one in the Ft.Worth area.

The original location was Temple, Tx. Wayne told me not long ago that he was just, maybe 5 miles south of Temple. From what I hear, Temple is a very nice place, people wise, so I sure hope that carries over to the hospital. They should have plenty of specialists for all kinds of things there.

I don't know which University Medical School/s Scott & White is affiliated with, however, but any of them would be good.
I would imagine that most GI surgeons would be able to handle this sort of thing, wouldn't you, assuming that there are no complications?

One thing for sure, no tellin' WHERE an N/G tube would end up if someone tried to intubate me while awake -- horrible gag reflex! For the life of me, I don't know why they can't give a little anesthesia just long enough to put those down folks. Mine would probably be coming out my ear, and I'd be hanging from the light fixture on the ceiling. Poor nurse or doc would be a basket case before it was over!

I never turn this thing on as frequently as I've been since I read the emergency post last night, so you know it's been on my mind since then. Guess will just have to be patient.

Hope my hopes & prayers for Wayne are manageing to make it all the way over the 'big pond' as Barb calls it. Dreadful about that tube going astray. Luce, I know what you mean. I really hate it & tend to want to fly up to the chandeliers as well. One time I gagged so much that I finished up with tiny red spots like blood blisters all over my face which took ages to go away. All the time the doc was saying "Mrs Pritchard, breathe through your nose,breathe through your nose," while I was choking on that darned tube.
