Stress and MC

Post by humbird753 »

Well, I have been extremely well and "normal" for about 6 months. One of my sisters passed away unexpectedly 10/23/15 and I felt my system handled it pretty well. I just got word 11/24/15 that another sister has passed away. She had been ill and hospitalized for over 2 months so I wasn't surprised. But it is difficult losing 2 sisters in a month. They were only 63 and then the youngest in my family was 58.

In spite of eating correctly, I started having watery D today. So far not numerous trips to the bathroom. I hope it just settles down rather than getting worse.

This definitely proves to me that you can be doing everything right, and doing very well, but stress can turn things around for the worse in a short period of time.

Wishing everyone a Happy Thanksgiving, and hoping everyone is well, or heading in that direction.

Love,
Paula

Paula,

Sorry for your losses. That's tough! You are so right. You can be eating right but if stress creeps into the picture, it does a number on us. It's the same way with me. When I allow a little stress in my life, I have some rough days. Am trying to manage that. I have also noticed that when I don't keep my regular routine and get my rest, it will do the same thing. Stupid disease. It seems like it always has the upper hand on us. Take care of you!

So sorry for your losses Paula. I hope your system goes back to "normal" quickly. Some stressors are definitely more difficult to handle than others. Surely this is one of those times. Take care.

Hello, Paula. I am so sorry for the loss of your sisters. One loss would be hard enough but with two it is easily understandable that your system is under great stress. Take care and I hope you are feeling better soon. I lost a brother unexpectedly before I had MC and it was a year until I felt like myself again. I'm grateful that I wasn't dealing with LC on top of his loss. My thoughts are with you and your family.

Hi Paula,

I'm so sorry that you've lost your sisters. And I hope that the stress caused by the sadness soon passes and your MC symptoms quickly fade.

Take good care of yourself.

Love,

Hi Paula,
I'm sorry to hear your news. I can imagine it is not easy and our feelings sure an take a toll on us, thankfully stress moments don't keep us with D for very long after we have healed as long as we have. I hope your support system keeps your strength up during this time, and the sadness lessens soon.

Dear Paula,
I am so sorry for your loss. I do agree that stress plays a big roll in MC, I know it does for me. It is so hard to lose the ones you love, especially so young.

I hope you are feeling better.

Paula, I hope to find you doing better. So sorry about losing your sisters! I lost my stepfather in October and had to take care of everything. I didn't eat for days and was so sick with D. It blew my mind that I wasn't even eating and still had gut upset.

Thank you everyone for your sympathies. It means a lot. Unfortunately, I'm still having problems with D. Only going 4 or 5 times a day. I'm sure that in time and by eating well, exercising, etc., things will improve. It hasn't even been a month since the 2nd sister passed away.

Again... thank you all.
