Enterolab Testing for Sensitivities

Post by humbird753 »

Hi Everyone - I know someone whose son-in-law suffers with psoriatic arthritis. He may or may have an IBD also, but is not sharing that with his mother-in-law (my friend). Anyway, my question is - Can he do Enterolab testing for food sensitivities without an IBD? My friend is wanting the Enterolab information for her son-in-law.

Hi Paula,

Sure. As they (sort of) state on their website, no diagnosis, physician's order or prescription is required. They also do other tests for certain issues.

Avoiding his food sensitivities would surely help his psoriatic arthritis, but not if he is taking an Anti-TNF immune system suppressant. But he might have to stop using NSAIDs if the diet changes alone don't bring improvement. That's not chiseled in stone, but if avoiding his food sensitivities will not stop the psoriatic arthritis then it may be necessary to stop using NSAIDs. Also remember that it can take a long time to see improvement in the PA from the diet changes, depending on antibody levels and other factors.

Thank you very much, Tex, for this information. I will give my friend the Enterolab information so she can provide it to her son-in-law. I will also advise her of the information you gave regarding Anti-TNF immune system suppressants and NSAIDs.

Love,
Paula

I realize the human body is very complex, but at the same time I can't help but question if ALL autoimmune disease symptoms are triggered from foods we have become sensitive to. If I'm understanding it correctly, we develop leaky gut, foods get into our bloodstream, our body tells our immune system these are foreign substances, and then our body begins its attack.

I'm sure that's not all there is to it, but I am wondering if foods play a major role in triggering all autoimmune symptoms?

Hi Paula,

Yes, as far as I can determine, virtually all so-called AI diseases are not actually AI diseases — they are caused by unresolved digestive system inflammation (due to either food sensitivities, drug-sensitivities, or severe chronic stress), usually combined with a vitamin D deficiency and/or a magnesium deficiency.
