My success story
Hi everyone. I am not new here, just not on my computer much but wanted to share my success. I have been battling collagenous colitis for 12 years, and nothing has given me any relief. Tried all of the meds, nothing worked. I tested negative for celiac so didn't figure gluten to be an issue. Until I began to really take note of my diet and symptoms. After eating a piece of birthday cake at work I had so much pain and bloating I decided to try GF just for S and G. I began to feel immensely better within 2 days. This was in March. I have been gluten free ever since and I have never felt better in my life. My bowels have returned to normal, which hasn't happened since 2004, and I have lost 25 pounds (necessary). I have energy and I do not feel depleted like I used to. I do not crave gluten and am much more satisfied with a protein based diet. I am able to eat fruits and vegetables again. My GI doctor never suggested I try this and I am just so glad I did it on my own. I am guessing I have a gluten intolerance or sensitivity. Just wanted to share this and hope maybe my story can help someone else. Sandra
Imperfection is beauty, madness is genius. It's better to be absolutely ridiculous than to be absolutely boring :D
That is really great to hear!
Gluten free one full year now...body has been telling me it is a good choice, but the strange body lesions and stuff can stop any time now, lol.
So happy for you!

Thanks for sharing and glad you're doing so well! A co-worker is doing a "diet" with his cousin who is trying to keep his blood sugar in check. He is basically eating like we do, no gluten, dairy, etc. He told me today that his stomach no longer makes the loud noises that it did before. His stomach noise sounded like he was passing gas. I think that goes to show that gluten really isn't good for most people.
