The Real Reason Why Humans Have Allergies
I've lost track of where this link was posted, or who posted it, because I just now had the time to read the article, but I think it was posted by Gabes. Wasn't it?

That article is right on target. It reflects what I wrote in the book 4 years ago (about my theory/claim that the medical community is wrong — autoimmune disease does not actually exist). All allergy system responses (including so-called "autoimmune diseases") are actually valid immune system responses, not corrupt responses. Medzhitov (from the article) is correct that anything that causes an allergic response should be treated by avoiding the allergen, not by trying to turn off the immune system. The immune system is working correctly and it's there for our protection.
I'm more convinced than ever that the use of immune system suppressants basically creates an accident waiting to happen. Without a properly functioning immune system we are sitting ducks for any primitive pathogen that comes along and decides to destroy us. And Medzhitov's (and others') theory also supports our long-held claim on this board that attempting to treat IBDs and other "so-called" AI issues without avoiding the foods or drugs that are perpetuating the production of antibodies is not only an exercise in futility, but an invitation to much more serious health issues down the road.
Thank you for posting that link. It's very gratifying to see that someone else agrees with me. Before I read that article,I was unaware that anyone was working on research to support this theory.

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.

Yes it was me...
it came to me via one of the biotoxin forums. and that is why i frequently mention various types of toxins as triggers (not just food items) as if your body is overloaded with toxins, diet and supplements will have limited scope to work if a) you are still having contact with too many toxins and b) your body is not clearing them properly. (linked to methylation as well)
this theory has good credibility as to why the wellness journey can be soo different for MC'ers.
one of my ponderings has been maybe younger people not just heal quicker but maybe have less toxins? (so the inflammation reactions to foods abate quicker?)
Also - as magnesium is key in clearing toxins, that is why many here improve when they resolve magnesium deficiencies.
Might be worth contacting the researcher and see if he will align with the MC foundation?

I doubt that he would be willing to associate with amateurs, but I just might try that.Gabes wrote:Might be worth contacting the researcher and see if he will align with the MC foundation?
Thanks again for the link,

Very interesting article. Thank you for posting it, Tex. I know I don't understand this as indepth as you do, but I've been in agreement with you for a long time that auto-immune diseases aren't diseases at all.
And, thank you, Gabes, for your comment about how Magnesium clears toxins. It is taking me quite awhile to not only fully understand how important Magnesium is, but also all the benefits of it. I know I read how important Magnesium is quite a few years ago. I'm hoping Re-Mag works for me. I couldn't tolerate any of the oral ones I tried, and I doubt I am getting enough with the spray and Epsom salt foot soaks and baths.

That has often been my belief too. The modern grocery store, with its wide selection of foods and spices has led to an increase in autoimmune conditions, such as ours. Chemical and pharmaceuticals can add to the problem.
One can see this with several popular observational studies, such as Dr. Weston Price. Dr Price made note of the health of cultures from around the world, noting before western foods were eaten and the health of the people afterwards. Often times cultures that for the first time began eating western foods would experience physical and mental deterioration. He wrote a book on his observations from the 1930s.
The Dr put forth several theories on why the primitive cultures health deteriorated. The basics though is that new foods, foods widely eaten in the west, were introduced to the old cultures. That simple act led to many health issues for cultures not adapted to western foods.
I got into an debate with a friend on this topic of immunity yesterday. He works in food defense for a larger agriculture company. He is also working on obtaining another college degree, this one in disease immunity. The tennis friend was upset that some in his class were not overly concerned about the need to use vaccines.
As I pointed out to him, historically most diseases were greatly reduced before vaccines came along. This develop happened due to improvements in sanitation and improvements in the quality of foods. (While grocery stores wide selection of foods can have a negative effect, it also has been a great development in improving peoples immune systems.)
We then got into the mess about the polio story. I pointed out that the story is more complicated than the vaccine "cure" created for it. I pointed out Sister Elizabeth Kenny, credited as the founder of physical therapy. Sister Kenny was "curing" polio patients by going against the standard treatment of the day by having patients work and exercise their muscles. Sister Kenny, while widely popular with the public in her day, was not well liked by the medical community since she was accusing medical officials of causing permanent paralysis by placing patients long term into braces and casts causing muscles to deteriorate. I then mentioned that many chemicals diseases that cause paralysis today would have been called polio in the past. The iron lung didn't go away. It was just replaced by the modern respirator. Etc, etc, etc.
I then pointed out some of the most commonly prescribed medications, often for autoimmune systems, weaken the immune system greatly. The medicines make one more susceptible to a host of diseases such as TB, polio, etc.
Anyway, the friend didn't enjoy my answers I could tell. Tennis was called early. Overall though, it makes sense that my friend and I would think differently on these topics. For me my personal job is to find answers to health, improve my health. It doesn't overly concern me to read the other side of the story when it comes to immunity. I realize what I've come to learn and believe is different from how the legal system works. For my friend his job is to protect the company he works for. He needs to provide the acceptable, agreed upon answers if any product or health issue comes up at the company.
