deep breath

Post by Janie »

Anyone have this problem? I have trouble taking a deep breath. I breath fine but can't add a deep breath. It is getting really annoying and somewhat panicky.

Hi Janie,

If you will go back and review some of my posts about my experiences with magnesium deficiency you will see that this symptom bothered me for many years before I finally resolved it by resolving my chronic magnesium deficiency. For almost 10 years, I asked every doctor I met about that symptom and none of them had the foggiest idea what was going on. They would examine me, listen to my breathing through their stethoscope, and then tell me that there was nothing wrong with me. The symptom disappeared when I finally started taking enough magnesium.

Magnesium deficiency also causes anxiety/panic attacks. IMO it is probably the primary cause of anxiety/panic attacks (it may be the only cause). Doctors sometimes diagnose the condition as hyperventilation disorder, but it never dawns on them that it is associated with magnesium deficiency.

I was about to reply with similar reply to Tex.

I know that Vit D3 and magnesium wont cure absolutely everything, but they do have strong connection to so many of the issues and symptoms (not just for MC'ers) in current day health issues.

If you are struggling with oral tablets and/or using the topical lotion, it may be worth considering the Dr Dean liquid product ReMag that other members have had good results with.

Thanks Tex and Gabes,
I remember reading some of Tex's posts but I was in a panic mode and forgot most of it. So I upped my elemental magnesium and vit D. I will request a magnesium RBC blood test from the requestalab and try and get some other labs done too. I need to see my Doctor too but I am Doctored out!!
I also have mag spray and will look into Remag. but I am leary of it!

Hi Janie,

Yep, as soon as I got myself on a daily VitD3 and Mag regimen I no longer have anxiety spells, palpitations, or heart flutters.

I am also using the Re-Mag and have done so for a strong week now. I don't take the therapeutic dose, I just add to my water what I feel comfortable with taste wise. I feel it actually helps me to drink a bit more water during the day, as I am not the greatest water drinker, and I don't drink as much as I'm probably supposed to. I do feel though that it does have a bit better healing property to it when it comes to my small intestine, although the verdict is still out on this one I do have to give it positive results at this point.

If you are leery of anything don't do it....but do stick with VitD3 and decent sprays of Magnesium every day along with Epsom baths and anything internal you can tolerate without it causing WD.

Also....relax ;-) you use up mag reserves being stressed out, it's not a win win situation at that point.
Cheers
Erica

Hey Janie,

Like Tex I couldn't get a deep breath in and always felt like "I was gonna go down" at any second. I also had a couple instances during the night while I was completely relaxed or on the verge of sleep and had to gasp for air. That was really an unsettling one. A couple of members on the board say they also experienced this a time or two. Knowing what I know now , thanks to the people of this board, it was mag deficiency. I suspect my "anxiety" problem that I've had for 5 years is also linked to this. Since starting the Re Mag 4 months ago, it seems like a problem of the past. I can't easily absorb other forms of mag and wasn't getting the therapeutic dosage needed to ease my symptoms. And speaking from experience, when you are low in mag you have all sorts of strange phenomenon happening in the body. Also don't get discouraged. The mag can help you feel a little better after a couple of weeks but it can take months to build up your reserves and get the true benefits.....you'll get there!

Thanks everyone for the encouragement. I ordered Dr. Deans magnesium miracle book to read and may switch to that but I don't seem to have trouble with Dr. Best Magnesium yet. My husband is a good support and is worried about me. The kids are still living with us but work too. So I am home during the day and gets a little long even with reading and keeping busy. I am at a loss with Docs. I will do independent lab for mag RBC test and Vit D. So I hope I have an idea where I stand.
