Finally some relief!
I have been struggling with the flare that started in March. I was put on budesonide, which I took for 3 weeks with out any relief, but lots of side effects. Including, an increase in blood sugar, nervousness and in general, just feeling horrible. The doctor then put me on imuran, which didn't work either. Then a week on lialda. Which basically screwed up my system even more. I started the scd diet which has been pretty tough to follow, but that was all I could eat anyway. I took a look at all of my stressors in my life after I was told that getting sick forced me to take a look at my inner self. Through EFT, meditation, and God's help. I was able to put all of those chapters of my life that caused the anxiety in the first place. But the biggest thing of all, was I had to forgive myself. After I did that, amazingly the inflammation in my intestines has left my body. There is a big mind, gut connection here. So with that, I will say. I'm on zero medication and the scd diet.

Hi Kathy,
That's good news. You're correct that there's a huge mind-gut connection involved with the disease. That's why we have to do everything we can to minimize stress in our lives.
Thank you for the update and I hope that you continue to improve.

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.
Kathy, that is awesome! As a newbie really challenged by the mental stuff right now, your journey is super inspirational and even hearing about it is positive and healing. Wishing you continued health and spiritual growth/strength!

That is incredible. Are you still on this SCD diet?Kpietryka wrote:I have been struggling with the flare that started in March.
