Quercetin?
Was just researching histamine issues, and several health-related websites and health experts mentioned Quercetin, a non-prescription "natural" product, as a possible supplement. I can't remember if this has been discussed before or not. I know Histame has been brought up, and Quercetin is supposedly a natural anti-inflammatory, anti-oxidant, anti-histamine product also. Have any of you heard of this supplement, tried it, or have any feedback about it? Thank you!

Holly,
When I searched the archives for Quercetin I got 57 "hits". Here are a few of them that particularly caught my eye:
Quercetin for Allergies
Quercetin for Leaky Gut
Vitamin D3, Tumeric, (Curcumin), And Alzheimer's Disease
Sjogrens and antihistamines
OTC antihistamines
Ditched the Quercetin. It's not for me.
I hope that some of these are helpful,
Tex

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.

Since these discussions, we have learnt more about methylation cycle and importance of B6 with managing histamine inflammation and it is one of the cornerstones of the methylation cycle. My suggestion would be to look into taking good active forms of B6, B9, and B12
it will help multiple things related to MC, mast cell, histamine etc

Thank you all! Since posting I've filled a prescription for Cholestyramine, and think that I will give that a try for a month first. If I happen to be one of those for whom it's not a helpful supplement/medication, I may give the Quercetin a try. Very glad to hear that it works so well for you, Jari!! And, Happy Birthday!!
