Insect bites ( or lack of them)
Before I began my regimen, GF etc, I used to get bitten by mossies with dire consequences. Now I find they don't like me me much and if I do get bitten there is no swelling or cellulitis of any consequence. Does anyone know why?

Hear, hear! Greengoddess, like you, mosquitoes and biting insects have always loved me! A feeling NOT reciprocated! I'd get bitten and bitten and the bites would swell ... while others around me weren't touched. Why? Haven't been out enough since MC and changes to notice, but hopeful same will hold true. Agree with Brenda, it must be a difference in the chemical make-up of our bodies (and blood), perhaps less sugar, less yeast, less carbohydrate, something that makes you less appealing probably by smell to the little beasts!!
Feels good to chalk one up on the "positives/benefits" side of the MC chart, doesn't it? Very interesting observation!

I've noticed the same thing. And when I do get bit, I don't itch and swell up nearly as much. In the past, I would be miserable for at least a week. Now, a mild reaction for a day or two, easily managed with an antihistamine cream, is all that happens. My theory is that as we heal, the levels of inflammation in our body go down, and we aren't as liable to have an over-reaction to a bite. I bet that I still get bitten as often, but don't react nearly as much.

It is like every bug in the world is attracted to me. Cannot walk outside without bugs attacking my ankles and legs. It was never like this in the past. No matter how much repellant I spray, it does no good. I have repeatedly sprayed my front porch, thinking it would help so that there would be "safe areas" I could sit or stand. I still have bugs attacking my legs. I have decided I cannot go outside. Bugs follow me inside also.
