Antihistamine

Post by terre »

I've been taking Allegra (24 hr) and want to try another. Would you recommend Claritin or Zyrtec?

Thanks,
Terre

Zyrtec children's liquid is the only one that doesn't cause me gas/D. It is used in allergy clinics in my area because it has the least troublesome ingredients.

I use benadryl on occasions in addition to the zyrtec if I'm getting a headache or lack sleep. It always causes gas/D for me though. I think corn is hidden in the ingredients. The long term side effects are Alzheimer's, so I try to not use it very often....

Martha, thanks for the info. I'll check the Zytec children's liquid and compare it to the adult version before making my decision. I sure don't need gas and D!!!!

Thanks again,
Terre
