Yes, i am highly reactive to a variety of triggers, chemical /metals / toxins.

combo of;
methylation issues - that my body struggles to clear toxins
years of deficiencies in key nutrients needed to clear toxins
years of chronic inflammation / leaky gut

Yes, I am also. Years ago I had the allergy scratch testing done and it did include some metals as well as foods, animals, dusts, pollens, trees, grasses, etc. I already knew I was sensitive to many metals as I could only wear the surgical stainless steel or highest gold studs for pierced earrings back in the day ... I ended up taking allergy shots for years when I lived in Sacramento, as well as gleefully taking out my lawn (and never again feeling a desire to have one)! And oh yes, years ago they used to spray the rice fields in Sacramento when I lived there every year with a highly toxic pesticide that made many people extremely ill, sometimes fatally so, until they finally changed the laws regarding the spraying.

I just read that people with multiple chemical sensitivities often have pancreatic insufficiency, I just got tested for it and am waiting for the results. One of the symptoms is diarrhea.

Gabes, do you have any information that might help me with MCS? Thanks

Best way is to join a MCS / biotoxin type group.
I am part of two of them based here in Australia (via Facebook) and they provide good information that is relative to our lifestyle and environments here in Aus.
It would be best to source something local so you can get relevant information. each town and city is different, each state is different, and each country is different with the myraid of inputs that regarding toxins, depending on what the main focus of what your state is; ie mining, or industrial or farming etc, along with what the laws are like in relation to water supply etc, and climate has huge impact

I have learnt quite a bit from listening to podcasts (all free) these two guys interview lots of people who have written books / articles and done research into various toxins and how to optimise wellness
Dave Asprey - Bulletproof radio (great podcasts)
Evan Brand, not just paleo (good podcasts)
(both these gents have done considerable research and recovered from chronic illness, both have a good list of podcast topics and content on their websites)
Better health Guy is another one who writes alot of articles - he recovered from Lyme disease - in amongst his recommended books and topics are quite a bit of info about inflammation / chemical sensitivity etc.

the other topic you may be interested in
the theory that major food interolences is actually because our body is overloaded with toxins.
we have referenced this article a few times in discussions in the past few months in various posts etc.
http://qz.com/689806/a-controversial-th ... allergies/

page 3 of this discussion is one of them where we discuss heavy metal toxicity and biotoxins
http://www.perskyfarms.com/phpBB2/viewt ... 7&start=30
and into page 4 I provide some links to stories/articles that will be of assistance.

hope this helps

Thank you! I appreciate all the links. We don't seem to have much info here in the Bay Area for some reason and certainly no environmental docs. I do belong to an MCS forum. I asked you because we both have MC as well so I thought perhaps you may have insight or knowledge about dealing with the two issues.

The two very common links to both issues

- avoid as many inflammation triggers as possible (food, enviro, lifestyle etc)
- balanced nutrient health and methylation cycle

Mcnomore, you might also find info/support/help from a local celiac support group. One of the members of the Sacramento celiac support group I attended last month has MCS in addition to multiple food intolerances and celiac. The group was very welcoming to me even though my diagnosis is mc, not celiac.

This article came into the feed of one of the biotoxin forums today

http://www.proliberty.com/observer/20090305.htm
Immune function overload. For persons with MCS, their detoxification system tries harder and harder to keep up with the removal of toxins. But as they are exposed to more and more toxins, the detoxification system has to work that much harder to remove toxins from their bodies until finally their immune system breaks down. By then the body has become hypersensitive to many toxins. The body is letting you know it is not happy that it is being exposed to so many toxins that cannot be detoxed or dumped fast enough. By the time most individuals with MCS figure out something is wrong, almost all have multiple system problems such as leaky gut, fatigue, inflammation, arthritis, severe allergies, candida overgrowth, thyroid and liver dysfunction, and a weakened immune system. The best defense is to avoid as many toxic exposures as possible but this is hard to do in an extremely toxic world.
