Hi - I know of two people who want to join our group. I've been here almost 5 years so am not sure if I remember correctly on how I did that. I thought all I did was click on "new topic" and typed a post. Please correct me if I am wrong, and let me know what they need to do. I want to pass on the correct information.
Thank you.

Hi Paula,
Anyone can read messages here, but registration is necessary before anyone can post a message. If we didn't have that requirement, I'll guarantee that we would be flooded by hundreds (if not thousands) of spam posts every day, promoting everything under the sun.
If you look above the Google Search window, there are 3 lines of links to various options. At the right end of the middle line there is a link that should now say "Log out [Paula]". If you click on it, then after you are logged out you will see that the word "Register" appears in big red letters right above the "log in" link that replaces the "Log out [Paula]" link when you are not logged in. Clicking on that link will take you to the registration process. The registration link is visible to anyone who is not logged in, but it disappears after they log in.
There are also steps in the registration process to prevent computer bots from registering or from automatically bypassing the registration process, but any humans should be able to easily answer the questions to get through the registration process. And as a final precaution, because some spammers are willing to go to the trouble of registering manually, I check IP addresses against lists of known spam sources before activating the accounts. It's not a perfect system, but it usually gets the job done.
If anyone has any problems registering, they can email me by clicking on one of the contact links at the bottom of any page, and I can register for them. Then, after they log in, they can change their password to whatever they want.
You're most welcome, and I hope they will join us.
Tex

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.
