Hello Everyone,
I wanted to post a testimonial saying where I am at now after 2 years of retirement. I took early retirement at age 62 because it had become hard for me to plan menus, shop, cook, and adhere to a strict diet while working 40 hours a week because of the fatigue I was experiencing. Today, being on SSI makes it harder to afford gluten-free groceries but it is amazing how well one adapts out of necessity. I was diagnosed with Lymphotic Colitis at age 58. Looking back over the past 6 years, I can see the progress I have made. Things have gone well since I retired. I get more rest and have the time to exercise. Over the summer, I was able to eat small amounts of salad which was a phenomenal treat. I ate butter lettuce with stems removed, tomatoes blanched with skins removed, seedless cucumbers and avocado. I was in heaven. I was lulled into a false sense of normaility. Over Xmas, I overindulged and got sick with WD and abdominal discomfort. I am still on the road to recovery. I know what I have to do. I have this website, Tex, and a community of people who also struggle with this disease to thank. That is why I visit here to read the experiences you share and to add my own. Wishing all a FIRMER 2017!

Hello Cory,
I'm sorry that you had a setback over the holidays, but it's nice to see an update from you, and it's great to see how well you have been doing since retirement. The holidays can be rough on any of us. But because you know how to regain control, I'm sure that you will soon be back in good health again.
Thank you for the update, and I hope that you will have smooth sailing during the rest of 2017.

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.
Thanks for sharing Cory :-)
Yes I am just about on my 2 year anniversary of healing too. This last Christmas got a bit rough on my too...but I attribute some stress to it all too. It has taken 2 weeks but I am now getting closer Normans (thank goodness).
It is a constant learning curve with MC.
Good Luck and stay the course!
Cheers

Congrats Cory!
I have been living on a farm for 15 months, i love it.
I am only working part time, and money is tight, but my health is slowly improving from the cleaner low toxin environment.
have a wonderful year XO
