In March of last year I had to learn a new language...how to speak MC. Went on my own down the road of healing through diet and supplements (GI doc was of zero help), but did find good support from my primary care doc. I performed the testing necessary to find my intolerances and also did the dna test that helped a little. Once into the eating plan that worked, it was a up and down battle for about 6 months. Then something wonderful happened. I started feeling better and even started leaving the house to do my own grocery shopping and buying clothes that fit my now -40 lbs. frame. Still keeping to the basic plan until the end of November I was still not having "norman" visit, so I added cholestyramine to the mix. Success! The very first dose allowed me to sleep through the night and the morning routine was to go once (a lot more solid) and felt good all day. So I'm sticking with one dose at night and having "norman" most of the time. I have started added a few things back into my diet and sometimes it backfires on me. But I'm not afraid to try! I have done okay with a hard cheese, sour cream, more vegetables, store bought gluten free breads, some corned beef, pecans, green chili, enchiladas and flautas. Can have a glass of white wine with no problem and also tequila, which is a real treat. It sometimes helps wash away the stress of the day. Still avoid raw vegetables, chicken eggs (duck eggs are ok), soy, gluten and have to carefully watch the sugar intake.
The best thing that has happened this new year is to feel like I really do have my life back. I seriously thought I would never be in this place a year ago. You guys have very much allowed this to happen just by being here and sharing. I have learned so much from this forum. I realize that I need to stay alert and be aware of any signs that MC is trying to take control. I guess it will always seem like waiting for the next shoe to drop.
Will be visiting my pc doctor soon for updating blood work up, etc. and I'm expecting that things are going to look good. Trip to eye doctor and dentist were both good, so I came through the year okay on those. Whew!
So the plan is to stay the course for now. Continue with complex b, vitamin D3 (5,000 right now), Claritin red, and 30 sprays (minimum) of magnesium oil to start the day. Cholestyramine to end the day. What I need to work on: eat more protein more often throughout the day. I still do not get hunger pangs so I forget to eat sometimes during the day. Also, I don't seem to "taste" things in quite the same way right now.
One strange thing happened a month ago.... My hair decided it wanted to be naturally curly all by itself. Really! I woke up one morning and there it was! I have lost a lot of my old hair but it's ok, I like my new hair! Unfortunately, it didn't decide to change color too, it's still white.

Sending out love and hugs to all of you. Thank you for being who you are!
