Duck Egg Advice Needed

Hi to all. I am sticking to the Stage One Diet and have been doing well recently. I have tried certified gluten free corn chips dipped into organic salsa (just dipped, not big scoops) for two days with no problems and will repeat today as I understand that we need to give something new a three day trial.
Next week, I want to try duck eggs. Should I try a duck egg three days in a row unless I have an immediate bad reaction?

great news that you are doing well.
yes, having the duck eggs (one a day) for the three days is best way to confirm if you tolerate them, if you have bad reaction first day, maybe only have 1/4 - 1/2 the egg on the second day (as they are quite large) and see how you go.

If you have any reaction it will likely be due to the salsa, not the corn, because very few people react to corn. By trying salsa with the corn chips, you're actually trying two new foods at the same time, assuming that you didn't do a three-day trial of the salsa alone first.
Duck eggs are safe for most people, despite the fact that they may react to chicken eggs. But yes, you should test them anyway, because a few of us cannot tolerate duck eggs. They're almost always safe, though.

Yes, Tex, I knew that I was really testing the salsa, not the corn chips although I hadn't yet had those. I wanted to see how I would react to tomatoes.
I have been off of budesonide since May 3rd after a weaning process.
Two other things I did recently: I started a Phillips Colon Health probiotic about a week ago. I had tried one early on to no avail but thought I'd give this one another shot. Dr Fines had recommended, on his FAQ page to patients, lactobacillus. I know it doesn't help everyone but who knows. You guys have given me the insight to try things, slowly, which I am grateful for and less afraid than I once was. Whether the probiotic has really helped me is perhaps unknown but I have seen a good improvement.
My stools kept getting better and better and this AM I had a completely normal one. Wow and Yea! I know better than to think that all is now fine for me. I will continue to be diligent on Stage One and take things very slowly.
The other thing is that I did: I realized that my tolerance of the histamines in wine was likely a problem even taking antihistamines. I researched and found a truly gluten free vodka. Deep Eddy's from Texas. No histamines in vodka. I found I can sip a little of this, diluted, now and then and have no problem. Because alcohol is inflammatory, it is something to be careful of, I know. It's just nice to have something to occasionally relax with being on such a restricted diet.

It's great that you're doing better. Most people can tolerate a probiotic much better after they are in remission.

Re: the duck eggs.....I have been eating them for quite a while and have found that I like them best as an addition to recipes. I think I just don't have a craving for eggs for eggs sake, but that said, scrambled is my preference. They are a wonderful addition to bake goods.
