I am so glad to have found this forum. I was only recently diagnosed with LC after years of problems.
My story is that not long after I relocated to a new town in late 2008, I began having all kinds of problems that became increasing worse until I ended up in the hospital in early 2011. I had more test ran than I even understood by all kinds of doctors, and had blood work done bi-weekly for months, when I finally just said "No More Tests". I also changed doctors about that time, which was a great move because the new one actually listened. She did a few tests for various autoimmune tests, then said she suspected MC. However, she did not want to put me through another colonoscopy because I had recently had 2, and she was frustrated that they had not bothered to do a biopsy. She did recommend diet changes, and doing my own research to see what worked for me. She told me to be sure that I requested a biopsy the next time I had a colonoscopy to get an accurate dx. I managed to get this under control by eliminating all dairy and grains except corn.
Fast forward to 2016, when I relocated again and had to find another doctor and explained to him my circumstances. He was not interested in all the past tests I had been through, and his words were "all that gluten free diet stuff is just a fad". Needless to say, I did not go back to him. I did, however, find what seems to be a good doctor who ordered the colonoscopy after a flareup. After reading information here, I'm understanding that the stress of relocating and finding a new job could be triggering some of the problems. We have relocated as my husband has promoted, but we plan to finally stay put until retiring in a few years. Also, I have been an over achiever and perfectionist, which I now see is not good for this. I have gotten a little better at avoiding stressful situations.
I am reading the book about MC, and absorbing all the information that I can from this forum. Thank you for this.

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.
