Thanks Patricia. I am in north Florida (Gainesville) in the middle of the state. I flew in Thursday from Montana. 
I would have stayed longer in Montana but for the extreme wild fires in the area. The smoke was too bad for hiking.
I had the boyfriend gas up the car Wednesday morning before work. He had to go to four places to find one with gas.
Yesterday I stocked up on foods at Publix. About 1/3 of the grocery was empty. The Publix folks were really working hard.
The grocery was out of toilet paper but I managed to buy a 24 pack at CVS.
I'm cooking 4 pork roasts now and will slice and freeze them overnight. The frozen pork will be going in the yeti if we lose power. I'm chilling the yeti now. I'm going to make a very large olive oil based potato salad tomorrow morning and an olive oil green bean salad tomorrow morning.
I'll probably make some hard boiled eggs tomorrow morning. The yeti will keep things chilled for 4-5 days if we lose power. I bought 5 avacados and a bunch of bananas. I bought 2 jars of almond butter and 6 boxes of nut thin crackers.
If we are out of power for more than 5 days I will move on to eating canned tuna, canned green beans and chick peas. During I think 2004 or 2005 we had 4 hurricanes come through in a 10 week period. Each time we were without power from 3-7 days due to limbs being down. I live in a beautiful part of Florida. We have a lot of live oak trees with Spanish moss. I live about 30 miles from the gulf coast town of Cedar Key.
I had the boyfriend inflate the bike tires on all of our bikes in case we have to bike to grocery and work after the storm. The biggest problem is the gas supplies. My boyfriend runs a battery store that is right near an interstate exit. Since Tuesday he has been watching the families that are evacuating from South Florida. It has been tough for him to see the steady stream of families with young children and dogs stop off the exit to get gas and more supplies at Publix as they are heading north out of Florida. This has been going on since Tuesday.
We have 1/2 a tank of propane so we can also cook on the gas grill.
Please keep emergency responders and Publix grocery workers in your prayers. Publix is open until 8:00 pm tonight in North Florida and then they are closing. The Publix grocery workers have truly been amazing.
I don't think much will start happening until mid tomorrow afternoon in North Florida so I will probably get up and do a fitness walk tomorrow.
The boyfriend and his son will be staying at my house.
Weirdly I think I'm more prepared than my non MC friends and neighbors. They seem somewhat clueless.

We're typically an evacuation center for the state since we are in the center of the state. One of the problems is that all of our hotel rooms were sold out due to the Univ of Florida Colorado football game. They did not cancel the football game until Thursday thus freeing up our hotel rooms.
There were thousands of folks looking for hotel rooms on Tuesday and Wednesday that probably ended up in Georgia.

Very glad to hear you are so well prepared and, of course, I pray it will not be as bad as we are all expecting. My son lives in Pensacola and my daughter in Vero Beach. According to the last update I saw the storm is going right up between them. I suppose it's a good thing that it's going up the middle since it should slow it down quicker but I sure feel sorry for the people who live there. Be safe as you can and I pray minimal damage for you.

We started getting light rain around 4:00 pm yesterday. I woke up to steady rain this morning. The rain is coming down pretty strong now.

I made homemade potato salad this morning with a vinegarette salad dressing (not too much vinegar). It came out really tasty. It is now chilling. I put the extra vinegarette on overcooked green beans that are now chilling. I turned off the tv and am going to work on straightening the house.
Salad dressing was: olive oil, a couple of teaspoons of grey poupon Dijon mustard, a little vinegar, dried dill and salt and pepper. It came out very tasty. Note: some MCers won't be able to tolerate vinegar.

I'm reporting in from Alachua county--Gainesville. 40,000 people in my city are without power. Amazingly we still have power
The boyfriend and sonster are outside picking up limbs. The rain just stopped but we are still getting heavy wind gusts and chunks of tree limbs are still coming down.
Cell service is very problematic. I think the towers can't handle the volume of texts/calls.
There is some flooding in my city. Hogtown Creek has flooded some commercial areas.
Note to folks in GA: Expect heavy rains and heavy winds.

Ugh, We just walked around my neighborhood and there are 4 giant trees down that landed on and punctured peoples roofs. The live oak trees seem to have better root systems and hold up better in the wind. I think the laurel oak trees don't have good root systems and some of the other species don't have good root systems. One tree is blocking the road.
