given various recent discussions about
a) lyme,
b) virus/bacteria and impact on health
c) having good levels of Vit D3 in blood test results, but still having inflammation issues
i thought this topic may be of interest to some members here
You may well have good levels of Vit D3 in you blood (as confirmed by blood tests) BUT if the Vit D3 receptor within the cell is not functioning properly then the body does not use that Vit D3 effectively for inflammation.
Vitamin D (Active form - 1,25 dihydroxy vitamin D3) ramps up Non Specific
(innate) immune system. It decreases the specific system (T and B cells). This
then releases AMPs (like antibiotics but natural) into our system. Kills
viruses, bacteria, fungal and cancer cells.
Many Infections can disable the vitamin D system!!
If infections block this receptor or alter Vit D metabolism or stop the VDR
from activating cellular antimicrobial defences, this decreases our innate
immune system (non specific system) – causes a dysregulation of our
immune ability to signal appropriately to other parts of our immune system.
HIV Blocks receptor 100% down regulation
Borrelia Burgdorferi 50% down regulation
HSV4/EBV (Glandular Fever) Dec VDR transcription 5x
90% pop infected by 40y/o
HSV5/CMV Dec VDR transcription by 2.2X
90% pop infected by 80y/o
HSV6 (Roseola) 100% pop infected. Child rash

Helicobacter Pylori – Est 50% pop has infection. Capnine deactivates
VDR. Biofilms also produce capnine.
Pseudomonas Aeruginosa, Shigella, Aspergillus Fumigatus,
Mycobacterium Tuberculosis - VDR dec 3.3 fold.
CWD Bacteia: L Form Bacteria, Mycoplasma (one of main cause of RA)
: no cell wall hard to kill. (T&T 4 yrs).

A greater understanding of how bacteria resist standard antibiotic approaches is also being gained. A protocol has been developed that is successfully restoring VDR and innate immune function with a VDR agonist and eliminating pathogens with low-dose, pulsed combinations of antibiotics. Immunopathological reactions (a.k.a., Jarisch-Herxheimer reactions) occur due to increased pro-inflammatory cytokines resulting from bacterial killing. The result is an exacerbation of symptoms with each dose of antibiotic, but improvement occurs over the long-term. Remission is being achieved in numerous chronic conditions, including many autoimmune diseases and fibromyalgia, as well as many diseases of aging. Although vitamin D ingestion is avoided as part of this protocol, the evidence indicates that the net result of the protocol is improved vitamin D receptor activation.
I am not saying that this applies to EVERYONE here. moreso for those with multiple health issues, that are struggling to attain wellness it is another thing to look at. Please note this is Functional medicine approach - mainstream doctors will not be savy/aware of this
