Boswellia and Tumeric

Post by Lisa_D »

Hello,

My doctor has recommended adding Boswellia and Tumeric as supplements to help with inflammation. I'm wondering if anyone has had experience/success with either or both?

I searched on the forum, but most of the posts on these topics seem from some time ago. Thanks in advance for any help :)

Kind Regards,
Lisa

Hi Lisa,

The reason why most of the posts are from years ago is because even though some of the members have tried very hard to make these treatments work for them, they simply don't work well enough for MC patients to be considered as a practical treatment. It takes a tremendous amount of items such as these to provide any benefits, and either that amount cannot be tolerated, or it is too expensive, or both.

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.

Tex is right....

I took Dysbio to kill off bad bugs this past summer...it only contains caprylic acid, quebracho, Berberine, garlic, & uva ursi.
You’re supposed to take 4 capsules before each meal....I hardly made it to 3/4 of one capsule twice a day!
It took longer, and worked for my gas/bloating, but eventually I was using the bathroom 5x per day so I stopped.
My docs can’t believe how sensitive my gut is....but less is better for us.

I can drink tumeric tea now, but I’m 5+ years post diagnosis.
So, if I add things slowly and in small amounts, I’m usually ok....never what is prescribed!

The most important things for healing early on is Vitamin D3 & Magnesium!

I tried Boswellia when I was first diagnosed and it didn’t seem to do anything helpful.
