COSTCO has come out for sale, a liquid Tumeric "Curcumin Complex" that "supports healthy inflammation response. Dose is one tablespoon of liquid.The box states, "1000 mg," with no further explanation. Calories: 10; total carbs: 2g (1%); ascorbic acid: 9mg (10%); The contents of the bottle states 95% curcuminoids; It also says: "Proprietary Tumeric Support Complex, 1200mg; glycerine, Acacia Gum, Xanthan Gum, Guar gum, Black Pepper extract (Piper nigrum) (fruit) BioPerine 50:1". Then, other ingredients: Water,Xylitol, Natural Flavor, Citiric Acid, Potassium Sorbate, LuoHan Guo Extract".
The box also states that, "Qunol is a registered trade mark of Quten Research Institute, LLC." On the box also is the following: "Curcumin C3 Complex and BioPerine are registered trademarks of Sabinsa Corporation.
The remarks also state that it is a vegetarian formula and that it is suitable for diabetics. It is marketed as a dietary supplement and has the disclaimer that it is not meant to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease. It has not been evaluated by the FDA.
The promise on the box or claim is that this product "Supports Healthy Inflammation Response."
The box has "REV103017" on it along with another number: "1209115".
Does anyone know the safe dosage for "Extra Strength Turmeric Curcumin Complex"?
I am taking Ultrainflamx Plus 360, made from a pea and white rice extract and containing some sort of a curcumin extract, apparently, as the bag states, "This formula features 'CurQfen' a clinically studied, patented curcumin blend designed for greater bioavailability and more reliable clinical outcomes." This is supposed to make this ingredient 45.5X greater in bioavailability in humans than standard curcumin extract (over a 12 hour period of time) with total free curcuminoids (ug/ml plasma).
There is a long list of ingredients on Information per serving; Typical Amino Acid Profile per Serving; Percentage of Reference Daily Intakes (RDI).
There is mention of, "flax seed derivative; Curcuma longa L. rhizome extract standardized to 40% (100 mg) curcuminoids and Fenugreek Galactomannans (from Trigonella foenum-graecum seed extract (footnote 2); Rice protein matrix and polyphenois from Hops (Humulus lupulus L.) Cone Exract (standardized to 2.5% Xanthohumol) Quercetin; Rosemary Leaf Extract and Ginger."
Separately there is a long list of ingredients listed. This product is distributed by Metagenics of Aliso Viejo, Ca. 92656.
The Study refered to is listed as a randomized, double-blind crossover study and written in the "Journal of Functional Foods. 2016. 22: 578-587.

I seen one study that does refer to some negatives of curcumin if I understood the scientific words in the study. It appears that reduction of inflammation and certain T-cells is accompanied by some chemical reaction in one or two organs of the body that increases the presence of certain chemicals created by the body under certain circumstances that normally are moderated by the body after their presence is detected. Frankly, I've read so many studies that I am dizzied by them.
If I understand it correctly, the quantities and safety of curcumin have not been scientifically tested on humans. Also if I understand it, experiments upon mice revealed that curcumin tended to prevent leaky gut when applied in advance of induced colitis. Also, it tended to minimize or reduce inflammation in the rats, as well as to help reduce the unwanted effects, that is reduce the number of T cells that aggregate at the sites of inflammation in both small and large intestines. But I didn't understand a lot of the scientific jargon in the articles and studies I read, so I'm just putting out what I think I understood.
Does anyone have any information on these topics?

I have never taken it.
From my work environment i have learnt that not all turmeric /curcumin are same quality, ie do not have the same anti-inflammatory ingredeints.
further you have to have the right amount, right type and right supportive ingredients to attain the anti-inflammatory benefits of turmeric/curcumin
it is these things that make me wonder if this why not many people have had good long term benefit namely because they are not using the right type the right way.....

Suggestions for Using Curcumin Therapeutically
While turmeric is readily available in the spice section of any grocery store, it's important to realize that if you're looking for clinical results, it's not enough to simply use turmeric in your cooking. The turmeric root itself contains only about three percent curcumin concentration, and curcumin is poorly absorbed by your body to boot. When taken in its raw form, you're only absorbing about one percent of the available curcumin. Even in supplement form it's unlikely to provide the results shown in various disease studies. If you want to use curcumin therapeutically, you can try one of the following three alternatives:
Locate a high quality turmeric extract that contains 100 percent certified organic ingredients, with at least 95 percent curcuminoids. The formula should be free of fillers, additives, and excipients (a substance added to the supplement as a processing or stability aid), and the manufacturer should use safe production practices at all stages: planting, cultivation, selective harvesting, and then producing and packaging the final product. Typical anticancer doses are up to three grams of good bioavailable curcumin extract, three to four times daily.
Make a microemulsion using raw curcumin powder. Combine one tablespoon of the powder with 1-2 egg yolks and a teaspoon or two of melted coconut oil. Use a high speed hand blender to emulsify it. Keep in mind that curcumin is a very potent yellow pigment that can permanently discolor surfaces, so take precautions to avoid "yellow kitchen syndrome."
Boil the curcumin powder. Another strategy that can help increase absorption is to put one tablespoon of the curcumin powder into a quart of boiling water. It must be boiling when you add the powder as it will not work as well if you first put it in room temperature water and then heat the water and curcumin. After boiling it for 10 minutes you will have created a 12 percent solution that you can drink once cooled. It will have a woody taste. The curcumin will gradually fall out of solution however. In about six hours it will be down to a six percent solution, so it's best to drink the water within four hours.

Also, I may have had my LC for about 3.6 years with it only being diagnosed a couple of months ago. Had Kaiser caught this earlier, it is possible that it might have been easier or faster to attempt to put this nasty thing into remission. Just a side note

I grate tumeric root and ginger root and steep it to make a tea every morning
I definitely believe it’s helped with the inflammation and stiffness in my hands.
It doesn’t happen overnight, though.....takes a while...and I do add a dash of pepper, and some coconut oil to aid in absorption.

I take turmeric/curcumin twice a day as a supplement. My acupuncturist recommended a brand named "Pure" which seems to have the fewest additives. You can get it at Amazon or most Whole Foods.
Overall I'm getting better. It's hard to tell how much is the supplements I'm taking (I take a few!), how much is diet changes (a lot), and how much is the medication changes I've made. But I haven't had any negative reactions to the tumeric, so I'm staying hopeful that it's helping!

I don't take Tumeric/Curcumin.....I took it for it a while a few years ago but my body was is such distress I can't be sure it was helping anything.
Currently I do not take it and I have not taken it while healing my gut since May 2015...I am healing, it just takes time

I tried curcumin (supplement) before I was in remission and reacted badly. I was able to tolerate turmeric heavily sprinkled on sweet potato with some pepper and a fat throughout my MC disease.
I'm in remission now and can tolerate a supplement which I started due to the fact that I have a pre pre pre pre cancer situation. I'm taking Drs Best Curcumin/pepper. I do think the curcumin is helping me take my normans to better normans.
Be aware curcumin and turmeric require a fat to be uploaded into the body.
