Hi everyone,
My innards seem to be going haywire and I get crazy pain right before, during and for some time after pooping. I suspect spastic colon. My next GI appt isn't until the end of the month. Any suggestions? Thanks!

Hi Jessica,
I suspect you are right. I know while healing I could feel gut spasms before, during, and after pooping. I didn’t have pain as much as I would have nausea and even light-headedness along with those spasms, when pooping.
I’m happy to say that now in remission for a couple of years, those sensations have gone and I’m ‘normal’ again. But those were the last symptoms to leave during remission.
I don’t have any suggestions as to how to relieve the pain. I just put up with it and in hindsight I really think that motility dysfunction is there until healing is completed.
Hopefully someone else may have more insight. I don’t know if magnesium supplements would relieve some of the cramping. I didn’t take magnesium at that time, but I think it could be helpful. Maybe topical magnesium might be worth a try.
Best wishes,
Carol

https://drjockers.com/benefits-ileocecal-valve-massage/Often times, solutions can be so simple that they get overlooked. Ileocecal valve massage is one of those solutions. Ileocecal valve massage has been found to be very effective for the relief of a wide range of gastrointestinal problems. Research has suggested that malfunction of this valve is a large contributor to gas, bloating, abdominal cramping, constipation and more (1).
Massaging the valve has been reported to help with issues such as colds, nausea, small intestinal bacterial overgrowth (SIBO), constipation, diarrhea and more due to the large impact that gastrointestinal health has on the entire body.
