How do you know if you have a malabsorption problem?

I don't actually know the answer to this... but I can usually tell because my food leaves my digestive system looking the same as it did when I ate it. I also notice because even when I can eat enough calories, I am losing weight. I will be interested to see what other say.

anyone having inflammation issues in their gut is having malabsorption issues.

symptoms such as:-
diarrhea
constipation
bloating / gas
reflux
pain
excess mucas
stool that is too pale or two dark
etc etc
