Got another laptop so I am back

Post by Wendy »

Can you believe it? Not just my laptop fried, but the PC kept crashing too? But that PC was a 98, so in computer life, it was well past its prime. So, even though I did not want, I got an amazing deal on a laptop. My brother researched it all, then found one left at a store not more then 5 minutes from here. And I got the extended warranty for three years. I AM HOPING that I have seen the last of computer problems for awhile though. I should not complain, though, as my brother takes care of all the problems, and I would be having to pay an arm and a leg for someone else to do the same things that I get him to do free.

And these days it is so amazing what they can pack on board one of these babies too. You just plug it in, and with it being wireless, it just picked up the internet line and away you go. Pretty cool.

Anyway, I am just about due to go for a nap, pathetic, but true. This year for Christmas I am doing allot of baking and or cooking for gifts. And I am making little gifts for the kids, filling Santa mugs with dried fruits and nuts and of course chocolates. One of my brothers is always hinting that he never gets enough homemade deserts, his wife does just about anything and everything, but doesn't make cookies. So I made him cookies, and some fudge, and tarts. Its amazing how freaken tired you get though. Oh, yes and I am making frozen meals for my youngest daughter and her girlfriend, who, both do not cook much, if at all. So far I have some homemade chicken for them. They both have crazy work hours, and they LOVE food. LOL

Since theones that know me, know that I have not really anything to go by when it comes to the holidays as I never celebrated it till I was about 37yrs old. The good thing about that is that we can do basically anything and call it a tradition.

Anyway, Beth is on duty for graveyard on Christmas, Mel is working at a bar too now, and she is working at a party Christmas Day Eve. Bruce, and Brit, his daughter are going to our brothers home for Christmas, so its going to be just Me and Amanda and Ed for dinner. The girls think that they can make it for dinner, just can't stay long.

We are still going to play a game, Ed just bought the game, The Apprentice, and I just bought the movie ELF. Love that movie. So what the heck, we will have a bit of fun.

Time to go, but its nice to know that I can still get on line. The only thing I haven't been able to access is my main email account. So if anyone has wrote me, and I haven't got back to you, it might be a few more days before I can get everything running back to normal once again.

Gentle hugs

Well, my brother told me that you should always buy yourself something nice at Christmas time, which I don't usually do. But always having computer trouble was just getting annoying. And I paid the same price for a used one two years ago that I paid for this new one with top of the line everything. So lets just say that Santa agreed with my brother and leave it at that. LOL The best part about it is that he knew what I needed, and he loves to look at puter stuff, so he went researching for one that would fit the bill, and all I had to do was go and pick it up. Well, pay for it too, which I still feel guilty about. I swear though that I would go nutty if I couldn't email and get mail and post here and do my banking and everything that I do using the computer. Living in the city is so different then living in a small place where it takes you a few minutes to go to the bank, or anywhere for that matter. You either do all of it on the net, or you use the mail, and with my memory things would be forgotten for sure. And also it is a big pain in the butt to try and get around without a car. I just wouldn't feel right getting my brother to drive me places anymore then he already does. He lets me use the car too, but things are so far apart, its just not feasible. And sometimes, its just nice to play cards or whatever when I can't do anything else.

Are you convinced????  I keep telling myself all this to convince myself of it, I have a daughter getting married and having a baby too, so there is always someplace to put any money that I do have. The kids say not to worry so much, but can't help it.

I even have a web cam so that when I talk to my sister, we will be able to see each other and actually talk and hear each other. I won't have to type, she is going to be thrilled with that. She doesn't have a phone, she actually ran into some major trouble with work, she had open heart about 4 years ago, and has diabitis, her job caused so much stress that she ended up in hospital with heart troubles once again. The thing is, she would not be able to have heart surgery again, she has a problem with her veins because of the diabitis, so they had to use veins from both her arms, and she has no where else that they can use. So she had to go off work. But her work disability does not kick in right away, so she had no income, and has had to go on welfare till tha tis sorted out. She did not have money to even pay for an apartment, so a married couple that she has been friends with for a long time, asked her to come and live with them. But they use cell phones, they do have a computer though, so they hooked her up so we can talk that way. So I am excited about that, I have not seen her personally for two years, we can through this way though. And she can get to see Pebbles too. She will love that. Anyway, she is at my mom's right now, but when she gets back home it is going to be nice to talk and see her at the same time. That is the most cool thing in the world about a computer. Anyway, it is going to be fun.
