I haven't been having any wd since starting on the steroids. I have been drinking about 3 quarts of water every day and taking liquid potassium every other day. I have also been taking a mag. pill every day. However, I apparently got extremely dehydrated and I ignored signs of low potassium. I guess I was thinking that the extreme heat we were having was what was causing me to feel tired. I also ignored the heart flutters. Lesson learned, I hope. I was on IV's for about 30 hours and am feeling much better. I will ask my doctor for a blood test every week again, just to be on the safe side. Some how ambulance rides aren't a lot of fun.
I just can't figure out where my potassium is going or why I would get dehydrated. Has anyone else had these problems? Vivian

Well, yes. I became dehydrated and ran low on potassium, and had to go to the ER twice I believe, while I was reacting. But this was before I discovered the diet, and I still had WD.

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.

Vivian, so sorry you had to spend the holiday in the hospital. I am what my Nephrologist calls chronically dehydrated. BUT I've never been so bad I had to go to the hospital and have IV's. Though sometimes I have wondered if I would feel better if they would just give me some fluids for a day. But I guess you have to be in a lot worse shape than I am to warrant that which obviously you were. Glad you are feeling better.
