LDN

This is a life-altering, frustrating, disgusting, and humbling disease, but if nothing else, it teaches humility.

LDN

Has anyone had success with the drug LDN? Should this be used with diet control also? Thanks for your input!

Hi Diane,

Looking at past member experiences, LDN doesn't seem to work very well for MC. However, it seems to work much better for certain other issues. If you have other autoimmune diseases that are preventing your MC from going into remission, LDN can help MC indirectly by helping to resolve those other issues. But for treating MC itself, so far no one has posted that they were having any luck.

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.

I've had quite a bit of success with LDN. I'm still quite new (just reached therapeutic dose a week ago) but I have been seeing great benefits. Of course, I also follow a strict diet and have started supplements.

If you look into LDN, it won't work if you don't remove the immune-response triggers that cause the inflammation. However, it does help stop the immune cascade that continues to create inflammation even after all triggers have been removed. The science says it will help your gut heal faster and can make flares less intense because of this immune-regulation effect.

I have found that it does great for the peripheral symptoms of MC (fatigue, joint pain, brain fog), helps me sleep, and makes it so I can drink coffee without a lot of pain and bathroom breaks.

Monique also seems to have had some success with LDN for her MC. Here is one of her posts: https://perskyfarms.com/phpBB2/viewtopi ... hlight=ldn

Tex is correct, though, that it works mostly for autoimmune diseases, but MC is now being looked at as an autoimmune issue, which could be why some people are seeing results.

Again, though, nothing will work for you-even LDN-unless you are no longer triggering the immune response with things like gluten or dairy, so diet is very, very important.
Kind Thoughts,
Liz
