Microscopic Colitis and Spasmodic Torticollis

Post by dolson »

I am so excited and overwhelmed, I don't know how to act!!!! It may be a MIRACLE!! I have been on the Specific Carbohydrate Diet, per Dr. Fine, since I'm a Type 1 diabetic and have Microscopic Colitis. I have Spasmodic Torticollis and get Myoblock injections in my neck every four months. It's a movement disorder that originates in the Basal Ganglia of the brain. My neck pulls to the left and back and many times it's extremely painful. It's genetic and all my relatives and cousins have some form of this monster disease.

Today I went to my neurologist (movement disorder specialist) and she could not believe the difference in my neck. No pulling, no pain, and the EMG machine showed minimal involuntary electrical activity in my neck. She was shocked. She asked "What have you done?" I told her about my Microscopic Colitis and my Specific Carbohydrate Diet and she was in AWE! She said "This is amazing and you walked in with no Myoblock in your neck." I am in AWE TOO! The Specific Carbohydrate Diet has not cured my Spasmodic Torticollis, but it's much better and the pain and pulling have subsided. It's the DIET! The Wonderful Diet! My neurologist suggested I should write a book. This diet effects the brain in a great way. I feel better, I have more energy and I never complain of the exhausting pain and pulling of the neck. It's not a cure...but it's a down right wonderful feeling in my neck.

Diet is everything with Microscopic Colitis. Dorothy Williams

Congratulations on your success with the diet. :iagree: Diet is everything. And I agree that you should give some serious consideration to writing a book.

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.

Hi Tex and Gabes,

Yes, I'm thinking about writing a book. Dystonia (Spasmodic Torticollis) can be created in animals but they can't cure it! I am excited but baffled how THE SPECIFIC CARBOHYDRATE DIET feels like an almost cure regarding this monster disease. DIET IS EVERYTHING! We are killing ourselves by eating bad diets with preservatives, growth hormones, artificial flavors, artificial colors and Wal-Mart puts FILLERS or PINK SLIME in their beef. We need to go back to the beginning of man when he ate meat he killed and fruit and vegetables he picked! I got that bit of info from Wayne Persky's book, which I adore and I am reading it again for the second time. DIET IS EVERYTHING and BAD DIETS ARE KILLING US!

Yes Gabe, copy my post and put it in the member success stories. Thank you for doing it. I'll do anything to help sufferers. Warm Regards, Dorothy Williams
