Just a quick question,
I have terrible headaches 3 to 4 times a week and sometimes need to take Advil Liquigels, do you folks think its decently safe to take periodically ? I also have Triptans to take for my headaches but those are very harsh on the tummy.
Thanks,

It's certainly possible that you might get away with taking them only occasionally, but according to published pathology research, NSAIDs in general cause more erosion damage to the digestive tract than any other common medication. Eventually, the practice will almost surely lead to serious problems with stomach or duodenal erosion damage. And for many of us, they trigger an MC reaction.
I had a major problem with headaches and migraines when I was reacting. I found that if I took a couple of Tylenols (with food) at the first sign of a headache, the headache could be prevented or at least greatly minimized. If I waited too long initially though, Tylenol didn't do much good. Of course that might be trading digestive system problems for kidney problems. Tramadol is another option that does not affect MC.
Interestingly, when I was reacting, headaches and migraines were debilitating, but I haven't had a single recurrence since I reached remission over a dozen years ago.

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.
Hi, Joel. I don't get headaches very often but I had a bad one yesterday. I rubbed peppermint essential oil on my forehead and temples. I was surprised at how quickly it took the headache away. My sister suggested it as it works for her. I use Rocky Mountain essential oils. They are good quality.

I am prone to headaches/migraines and have tried Tylenol instead of Advil. It doesn't usually work for me, however, so my neurologist prescribed fioricet for me. I've also heard tramadol is helpful, but I can't take it for some reason that I don't remember. I try to avoid having to take the triptans since I also take an SSRI and have been warned about serotonin syndrome. Anyway, I have found that I need two of the fioricets, but they usually block the pain. (Sort of still feel it, but it doesn't hurt if that makes sense). Fioricet is Tylenol, caffeine and butalbital.
